Mridangam

The Mridangam is a South Indian percussion instrument that is played as accompaniment for both classical music and dance.
The mridangam syllabus at TFA follows the rich teachings of the late Sri Trivandrum R Vaidyanathan, who hails from the lineage of Mridangam propagated by the late Sri Palghat R. Raghu, a disciple of Mridangam Legend Sri Palghat T.S. Mani Iyer, who is often referred to as one of the “Holy Trinity of Mridangam”.

With Mridangam lessons in TFA, much like how other subjects in TFA are taught, the Guru imparts teaching catered to each student’s pace, encouraging their progress at an optimal yet comfortable fashion, without compromising on the authenticity of the teaching.
